Capriccio Osteria has been serving authentic Italian food in Leichhardt with love and passion since 2015. The premier Italian restaurant of the inner west has been under the direction of restauranteur Michele Rispoli since its inception.

Michele hails from Positano, a postcard town on Italy’s southern coast. He had a vision, bring the spirit of the Amalfi coast to Norton Street and create the finest Italian fine dining experience in Sydney. His commitment to authenticity and for delivering the best stems from three generations of hospitality running through his veins. From Vino to Focaccia, his extensive knowledge and passionate approach will always leave you ready for another round.

Our chefs are there for one reason, and one reason alone, to deliver the best Italian food in Sydney. Led by Head Chef Nicole Bampton, whose resume is awash with experience in delivering quality including Sepia, Tetsuva’s and Lucio’s. Her extensive experience has led her to develop several of our signature and seasonal favourite’s, imbued with a delicate passion and award-winning taste. Each uniquely inspired dish brings Capriccio Osteria to the forefront of Italian restaurants in Leichhardt.

Our truffles are delivered weekly via air freight, arriving directly from the growers in the Southern Forests of WA. This guarantees peak aroma, maximum freshness and exceptional flavour in every dish. These are the same truffles served in world-class restaurants around the globe, and now they’re featured across our dedicated truffle menu right here in the heart of Leichhardt.

From Manjimup to Your Plate

The black winter truffles we use at Capriccio come from the Southern Forests of Manjimup in Western Australia, a region that has earned a global reputation for producing premium black truffles. These are Tuber melanosporum truffles, the same species as the French Périgord, grown in rich Australian soil under oak and hazelnut trees.

Thanks to the unique microclimate and dedication of local growers, Manjimup produces truffles that are dense, aromatic and rich in flavour. Our truffles are harvested to order, then flown direct to Capriccio within days of being unearthed.

This commitment to freshness means you’re experiencing truffles at their absolute peak — with bold earthy aroma, firm texture, and that unmistakable deep umami character.

Head Chef Nicole Bampton was raised in Western Australia and has visited the farms where these truffles are grown. Her personal connection to the region, combined with her fine dining background, brings authenticity and technical precision to every truffle dish we serve.

Our five-course tasting menu is available every day throughout truffle season for both lunch and dinner.
This is a full truffle experience designed to highlight aroma, texture, richness and warmth.

The full set menu is $79 per person.
Dishes are also available individually for guests who prefer a lighter experience or to add truffle courses to a regular dinner.
